2. What we collect and why
Synth City Radio uses only the data needed to run the website, keep the radio player working, handle newsletter signups, answer messages and understand whether the site is useful. Some information is technical. Some is given by you directly, for example when you send a contact form.
| Situation | Data | Why we use it |
|---|---|---|
| Opening the website | IP address, browser, device type, access time, server logs and basic technical information. | To keep the site available, secure and working correctly — legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. |
| Playing the radio | Technical requests needed to load the audio stream, artwork and Now Playing data. | To provide the live radio experience — legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. |
| Newsletter signup | Email address, subscription date, confirmation status, source/UTM data and unsubscribe information. | To send SCR updates after your consent — Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. |
| Contact form | Your email address, message, subject, date/time and technical delivery logs. | To read and answer your message — legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. For cooperation enquiries, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR may also apply. |
| Analytics | Page views, events, device/browser data, approximate location, referrer and aggregated statistics. | To understand which pages work and what should be improved — only after consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. |
| Ad measurement | Page views, events, cookie identifiers, ad identifiers and information about interactions with the website or ads. | To measure Meta ads and, where applicable, build remarketing audiences — only after consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. |
4. Contact form
The contact form is for general questions, partnerships, press, technical issues and project enquiries. It is not the music submission route. Tracks sent through the contact form are not reviewed for playlists or radio.
Contact form messages may be delivered through the configured domain mailbox / SMTP provider, for example Hostinger Email, or through a mailto fallback if direct delivery is not available.
5. Analytics and advertising tools
Google Analytics
Google Analytics helps us understand which pages people visit, how the website is used and which parts need work. It is not used to identify individual listeners. It loads only after you accept analytics cookies.
The provider is Google Ireland Limited. Google may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, transfers should rely on appropriate legal safeguards such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, Standard Contractual Clauses or other recognised mechanisms.
Google Analytics data retention period: 14 months. IP anonymisation is enabled where supported by the implementation.
Meta Pixel
Meta Pixel is used to check whether Meta ads lead people to useful parts of the site, such as playlists, the radio page, submission information or the newsletter. It may also help build remarketing audiences. It loads only after you accept marketing cookies.
The provider is Meta Platforms Ireland Limited. Depending on the event and Meta’s terms, Meta may act as an independent controller or joint controller for selected business tool processing.
We do not sell personal data. We also do not use analytics or advertising tools to make decisions that produce legal effects concerning you.
7. External links and submission platforms
Synth City Radio links to external platforms such as Spotify, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and music submission services. When you leave this website, the external platform controls its own cookies, analytics, account data and payment or submission process.
Some submission links may be referral or partner links. This does not affect editorial decisions, playlist placement, radio rotation or review outcome.
8. Service providers
We may share data with service providers only when needed to run the site: hosting, email delivery, beehiiv newsletter tools, Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, technical maintenance and professional advisers where legally necessary.
9. Transfers outside the EEA
Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate legal mechanisms such as an adequacy decision, the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework for certified organisations, Standard Contractual Clauses or other safeguards required by law. This is especially relevant for global tools such as analytics, advertising, email and hosting providers.
10. How long we keep data
- Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent, and then for a limited period if needed to document consent or defend claims.
- Contact messages are kept for as long as needed to answer the enquiry and, where relevant, document cooperation or resolve disputes.
- Server logs are kept for the period needed for security, diagnostics and abuse prevention.
- Google Analytics data follows the retention setting in our GA4 account: 14 months.
- Cookie consent is stored until you change the choice, clear browser storage or the consent record is replaced.
11. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you may have the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, data portability, objection to processing based on legitimate interests and withdrawal of consent where processing is based on consent.
You can also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Poland, this is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office — Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych, UODO.
12. Children
This website is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal data through the newsletter, contact form, analytics or advertising tools.
13. Changes to this page
This page may be updated when the website changes, when tools are added or removed, or when legal requirements change. The current version will be available here.
